Alan started diving in the 80's and tech diving in the mid 90s and never looked back. He, and his wife Vivienne, owned several successful dive centres in the UK from which they organized holidays and dive training in Malta, using Divewise as a base. They loved the Maltese way of life and the dive centre so much they bought into it and moved to Malta!

Techwise was established in 2009 to help boost the growth of technical diving in Malta, which is Alan's passion, and has grown to be the premier tech centre in Malta. Malta's underwater heritage includes many WWI and WWII wrecks that need to be dived!

Techwise has a team of instructors and guides that are focused on technical diver training and experiences whether it be backmount, sidemount, open circuit, or CCR.

Alan is a technical diving Instructor and IT for IANTD, TDI, and PADI and prefers to focus on CCR and in particular the Fathom Mk III and Gemini.
